This ONE Question Will Help You Set a Powerful Goal in the New Year

Today I want to talk about goal-setting because it’s that time of year when we’re reflecting and planning for the new year ahead.

As I think about what I want to accomplish in 2020, I have a confession to make…

I’ve always struggled with setting big goals in the new year. I do it but somewhere along the way, I lose track of my goal.

Before I know it, it’s April and I’m already off course.

And the result? I lose motivation and eventually toss my goal to the side, or I set a new, smaller goal.

I know I’m not alone in this. Goal-setting is challenging.

So what do we do? How can we set goals that last? And how can we become better at setting goals?

At Work Bigger, we use the SMART goal framework to set goals and we ask: Is your goal specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound.

This is just a starting point for us because none of the above matters if your goal is missing one thing.

In today’s blog, I share the most powerful question to ask yourself when you’re setting goals this year.

Then when you’re done, I’d love to hear from you:

  • What do you want to accomplish in the next few months?
  • And, how does it feel when you imagine working on that goal?

Share with us in the comments, and I’ll coach you on it.

That’s it for this week Work Bigger. We have some exciting stuff coming up in January. See below
